What's causing the bottleneck?

My rig:-

CPU- AMD FX-4130 @4.0GHZ.

GPU- RX 570 8GB.

RAM- 12GB DDR3 1333MHZ.

MB- Gigabyte 78LMT-S2.

STORAGE- 240GB SSD + 1TB HDD.

PSU- COOLER MASTER 550WATT 80+ WHITE.

MONITOR- 1336*768.

I'm not getting smooth experience because of my CPU at 100% usage during gaming ? Or slow DDR3 RAM? OR As Linus says low resolution means more stress on CPU & high means more stress in GPU. So, if I upgrade my monitor to 1080p will I get any benifit from it? I don't have enough money to buy new cpu, mb & ram. I purchased the system on 2013. After 6 years I was able to upgrade my system so I purchased RX 570, 8GB RAM & 550WATT PSU. Which cost me significant amount of money. So I just can't buy some more new components. But I can buy cheap 1080p monitor. So what do you guys say? Should I buy a monitor or should wait more 6 years to upgrade my whole PC? The problem of living in third world with low income. T_T. But all I want is smooth gaming experience nothing else. Help me please.

1st your CPU. The weakling doesn't allow your GPU to reach above its 30-50%, blocking its potential and performance vastly.

Imagine having 2-3 times more fps and no hiccups while gaming. That's what a non-bottlenecking CPU would do you.

2nd your monitor. Not even the strongest known processor can prepare/feed enough frames for a GPU like that in order for it not to be bottlenecked and output its max framerate.

RX 570 was made for 1080p and up.

Upgrading the monitor will bring you no performance uplift but would allow you the future upgrade that you should do.

Upgrading the CPU&MBO&RAM and keeping the 1360x768 screen would result with a lot more frames but the GPU would still be bottlenecked.

Even getting a cheap used FX 8-core (like the FX 8300) would improve your experience vastly, paired with a 1080p monitor.

Honestly, your system is getting kinda old, I hate to be that guy that says this, but you really will benefit from an upgrade into the Ryzen series

I recently canned my old system and went to a Ryzen 7 2700 and I can tell you, the difference is amazing!

My old systemL

Trust me, the feeling is amazing!

*EDIT* The part about the GPU is removed as it may have seemed a little confusing at first!

You may see here, I upgraded my GPU too because the GPU was bottle-necking!

Okay i get the upgrade for the CPU and the other stuff. But an RX570 to an RX580 is just wasting money.Thats about an 10-15 % more power for about 30-40 dollars more...In my opinion you should have waited an put in more money for the video card that is not really an upgrade...

I was looking more for the g-ram in that case there, the 570 I had only had 4 gig but the 580 had 8 gig. I just decided to spend that little extra for the extra performance too.

Besides, this thread is about the CPU more than the GPU, so why are you nit picking at my response..? Just seemed kinda pointless to me.

I nit picking (dont know what that means im not an native english speaker) because you are giving bad advise to someone who doesnt know better. If you advise someone to upgrade from an RX570 to an RX580 its just bad advise. Like you said "Trust me the feeling is amazing" what feeling is that?...dont get it. So if you dont know your stuff you shouldnt give advise to someone who trust this platform and goes with his own money buying stuff because of your advise.

Btw. The VRAM if more an 4 GB on the graphics card is mostly imported for gaming on higher resolutions so for an full HD Monitor or his 720p Monitor your GPU upgrade is mostly useless. This is one of my main complains about those ATI Cards they get 8 GB VRAM but they really cant handle high resolutions above 1080 p.

And yes @Topic your CPU is the limiting factor in your Build. Get an new one with an board my advise:

But he did not advice to upgrade that graphics card. In fact, if you want to keep exaggerating, you could say he expressed that a Ryzen 5 2700 is an overkill for RX570.

Anyways, I'd recommend going for AM4 platform too, there's no going around the age of your platform, unfortunately. But with the recent launch of Ryzen 3000 series you can get something like R5 1600 or 2600 quite cheaply, maybe even bundled with a motherboard and RAM. Used market is one option too. Even the first generation Ryzen CPU would give you a great boost

RM650x | Fractal Design R4 | NVMe 970 EVO Plus 512GB | SATA 850 EVO 512GB

Well an Ryzen 2700 is an overkill for an RX580 too...whats your point?

Its mostly not an bad idea to get an better CPU and an Mainboard and upgrade later the GPU you dont have to get an new mainboard for an new GPU you just plug it in...

Guys, let's not argue, I'm sorry my bilingual friend, I may not have been clear.

The reason I bothered putting it in with my original reply is because in terms of raw performance, it is pretty much the same.

My original reply was more to inform that upgrading from a previous Generation CPU to a Current Generation CPU is an amazing feeling!

and to the OP, just remember that if you do go down this route of upgrading your CPU to a Ryzen or new Intel CPU, you may need to review the rest of your system as well;

Motherboard and RAM mainly!

If you need any assistance or extra advice, you can surely see we're all glad to try and assist!
