10Gb Network Adapter , Only Getting 1Gb Speed

Random thing I notice with my setup, but I just bought a Aquantia AQtion 10G pro NIC and after installing it, I went to check my internet speeds, its only 1gbps(1000mbps). I tried to look online to see if I can increase it just a bit further, but I been having no luck in finding any results to my problem. Would anyone know what could be causing it to be held back from using more then 1gbps? Motherboard, internet service I currently have, etc?

What is the adapter connected to? All devices in the series have to be 10G or better -- the NIC, the router, the modem, the link between the modem and the ISP -- for it to work.

The adapter is connected to my motherboard via PCIe slot 3.0 and ah, that would make sense a bit.

you have a 10Gb NIC... but probably only a 1Gb connection to the internet..
