Should be fine, not sure about cooler/ram clearance. Have you tried using PCPartPicker before?

The RX 5700 XT has the same performance at a lower price

I would live without the hard drive and case if it gets you a better entry level X570 board potentially.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

That particular board (MSI B450 tomohawk) along with some others, has a bios flashback feature that allows you to update the bios without even having a cpu installed.

the 2070 is a better option right now specifically for the coolers, if the 5700/xt's AIB cooler designs showed up a bit earlier than it would be a no brainier, but the stock blower on those is god awful and thats coming from someone who runs a fermi tesla c2050 with a god awful blower cooler on it

also, dont recommend someone to cheap out on a case, a good case is a good investment, ideally they'd just swap to an x570 board anyway but if thats not an option then i suggest committing the hard drive and just using the stock cooler to cut some costs

Is the stock cooler good enough for overclocking?

In the US anyways the RTX 2070 is $100 more for the same performance as the $400 RX 5700 XT.

Aftermarket cards have started to leak out as well, so it might only be 2 weeks away, assuming they come out in mid august.

The CPU or the GPU? Assuming CPU, it'll overclock a bit on the stock cooler, but you should still buy a $25 120mm air cooler at some point.

The NAVI blower card can be improved with a bit of work in any event.

That's the RX 5700 XT at the same price right?

If you want to mess with overclocking navi isn't as locked down with the new mods

but it's really a choice then between ray tracing support, which isn't many games.

Or this feature, to cheat out more performance with built in upscaling, in everything but DX 11 for now.

You can just buy the cheapest X570 board, they're fine for the 6-8 core.

aftermarket cards come out sometime in august, hopefully within the next 2 weeks.

otherwise you can improve the blower cooler a bit.

No, it's $15 wasted for basically 0 perceptive fps increase relative-performance-games-1920-1080.png

edit: oops looking at the wrong one i think 2.8% is low but 15$ is also a low amount of money so it depends on the person

Not even 5%, it's 2.2% and you can't notice the difference between 102.2 fps and 100 fps so it's realistically 0%.

yep i was looking at the wrong bar and also this test doesnt cover all scenarios
