Hey guys,

I recently started thinking about building a pc. Currently I have a notebook with an i5-7300hq, gtx 1050 4gb, 8gb RAM.
I tried to put together a list of all parts that I would need, but I'm not sure if it might have any compatibility issues (tdp, cooler size v ram, cooler size v case, bottleneck)

I hope you might be able to help me, so here's the list:

ASUS PRIME B450M-A

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.40GHz AM4
BE QUIET! Dark Rock 4

ARCTIC COOLING MX-4 (4g)

HyperX 16GB FURY DDR4 2666MHz CL16 KIT HX426C16FB2K2/16

GIGABYTE GV-N166TWF2OC-6GD GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GDDR6 Windforce OC PCIE

CORSAIR CX Series CX550M 550W powersupply

KINGSTON 480GB A1000 M.2 PCIe M.2 2280 SA1000M8/480G
SEAGATE BarraCuda 2TB 3.5" 7200rpm 256MB SATA3 ST2000DM008

FRACTAL DESIGN Focus G blue-black
ASUS VX24AH monitor
ASUS ROG Strix Evolve Gamer Mouse
COOLERMASTER CK550 RGB Gateron Brown Keyboard

Thanks in advance

What's your budget, and what do you want to do with the PC? (Gaming? Streaming? Office work? CAD? Video editing? Etc...)

I'm assuming you need everything for the setup? (The PC itself, monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse, mousepad (optional, but suggested), maybe headphones too (or instead of speakers))

PCPartPicker is incredibly helpful for putting together part lists for PCs. It has a built in compatibility checker, and it'll even estimate how much power your PC will use (under load). https://pcpartpicker.com/list/

You can pick which retailer(s) you want to use, as well as pick plenty of options to help find the perfect components for your PC.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

@TheKDub Thanks for the reply.
My budget is around 1500 USD (converted from my own currency) VAT included. This setup is about at that pricepoint.
I need the stuff that is listed. I have pretty good headphones, a mousepad, mouse+keyboard(but they are garbage). I don't want speakers.
I would like to play games. Mostly new titles. I do the same with my current machine, but it really struggles to keep the fps above 30-40 in BFV or Shadow of the Tomb Raider (low-medium settings)

Which country do you live and what is your budget in your country's currency so that we can use PCPartpicker to help us put together your computer using the retailers you'd be buying from

The CPU cooler is a bit overkill, go with a hyper 212 or something else in the same tier. For example the Be Quiet! Pure Rock, and stick with the default paste. The RAM could be a bit faster, 3000MHz or higher preferrably.  A standard refresh rate 1440p monitor is not bad, especially at 24 inches but you could also look at a 144Hz 1080p monitor instead. If you end up with savings I'd put it towards the GPU budget.

I'm not sure but I believe Pure rock is not compatible with the AM4 socket.

I have a pure rock sitting on my 3900X right now so as long as it's not ancient stock from years ago it should be fine. However most coolers in that tier and price will do.

It's easier to order from hungarian retailers, so I mostly use the ipon.hu online store

You should just buy a bigger CPU cooler later and upgrade the CPU to Ryzen 3000, MSI has UBS bios flashing on some of their B450 boards.

How much more is an RX 5700? Because it's a much better GPU if it's not much more, you can just buy things like a nicer keyboard/mouse later.

Is the monitor at least 1080p 144hz?

Ryzen 5 3600 is almost double the price of the 2600. Even if I ditch the cooler, the mouse and the keyboard, I am almost at the same pricepoint for the whole build
The RX 5700 is 30% more expensive, bit overbudget too.
The monitor is 1440P 60hz. (Doesn't have g-sync or freesync)

Yeah, that would be a solution :D a few years back we didn't even have the latest products around launch. Only a few month later. Now at least I can find shops that sell 3rd gen ryzen and 16/20series graphics cards
