Hello.

I'm preparing to buy a new occasional gaming laptop and I'm looking forward to buying a new desktop screen to connect it to either with GSync or Freesync but I was wondering:

  1. As far as I know these technologies can be used through a mini display port but could they be used through thunderbolt 3 or a normal HDMI 2.0 too in case the laptop I'm buying isn't provided with miniDP?
  2. Does any Nvidia laptop GPU offer GSync once connected to an external GSync enabled monitor?

I still haven't decided what to buy, but it will be in the range of an all-rounder with a GTX 1650 or 1660ti.

Thanks.

Why not just use a laptop with GSYNC display

From what I know you'll get GSYNC support to external display

Because I like to be confortable at home, I'm using a 27", IPS, 75 Hz screen with freesync at the moment and it's very confortable for gaming and working with PDFs and word sheets side by side.

I use the built in screen only on the move.
