Bottleneck my monitor

i7 8700k but other people told me i would be bottlenecking my monitor so i just want a opinion from here as well.

A monitor is an output device, it can't bottleneck other devices since no other devices depend (or have to wait) on it.

 

Bottlenecking a monitor, I'm not even sure what that would be although I consider myself an expert in bottlenecking on a PC.

Perhaps those folks mean that your system can power more than 144 fps on 1080p or a higher resolution than 1080p without issues.

But, being able to run 144Hz 1440p (your system might be able to do it in many games) does not mean the 1080p 144Hz screen would be bottlenecked.

I have MSI Optix MAG241CR monitor (a slight upgrade to yours) with MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 3G GPU and i can play all my games with high/ultra settings @ 1080p with solid 60+ FPS with ease. So, there's that." I meant to send the 27 one but there is no difference i dont think I believe its the 27 one

He's not a tech-savvy user.

 

He's trying to tell you you don't need an RX 5700XT to play nicely on a 1080p 144Hz screen. That's without considering future titles and the fact that you'd probably like to have the settings on Ultra with Anti-Aliasing or even GPU scaling.

That has nothing to do with a bottleneck. And even if it were, the monitor would be the "bottleneck", not the system.

 

Upgrade now, change the monitor later.

I just bought this one for 230$ lol Like 2 or 3 weeks ago. Now i need to change that's great well thanks for helping me though.

You don't need to change. I'm just trying to explain what the guy mentioning bottlenecking meant - that your system has enough power for a higher resolution.

 

I repeat you don't need to change anything. If you're going to stick with the monitor, you can buy a cheaper card if you want to save money.

Or you can run virtual super resolution, higher details, filters etc.

 

Don't worry, most of us have stronger systems than needed for our monitor(s). That's quite normal. Most people still use 1080p 60Hz but have a system capable of high refresh and higher resolution. It's that time of the decade when we're between higher resolutions becoming mainstream (you still need a beast to run 4K gaming) and 1080p stopping being mainstream.

As far as i also know i have made sure plenty of times but sense you actually talk the actual truth My PSU is a 650W 80+ gold EVGA Is that enough?

I mean if what you are worried about is noise level and Cooling i get that but my basement is like so cold and noise i personally dont care about i mean it's really cold down here
