I had a RAID 1 set up on a different machine and have since moved 1 of my WIndow Server OS Drives to a new system, but I didn't include the RAID 1 array when I put 1 of the drives on a new motherboard. If I go to put the second drive with it's pair drive and attempt to reset up the RAID 1 array on the new system, will it wipe one or both drives? Or will it be ok and start mirroring each other and would drive 1 mirror to Drive 2 since Drive 1 would have newer information?

How did you make this raid array? Whats the raid controller?

It was with the onboard Intel raid controller. it comes up when you go to hit Ctrl+I.

It should know the lastest version of the drive, but id backup first just to be safe.

Are you sure it won't try to break it apart and then re-Raid them?

Im pretty sure it will rebuilt,

but make a backup first. If you want you can delete the raid header and partition header on the drive first.

Ok, I am using Macrium reflect to clone my server drive to another drive as my back up right now.

Well, I am glad I followed your advice. Apparently, you can't put a RAID 1 back together, it just wiped both my drives. So I am cloning back the image I had. On a plus side, at least now I have a solid image of my Server to fall back too.
