The issue is my 1700x system will not POST. It has run fine for 2 years, and this just started.

My first thought was the PSU, as it is 6 years old. So I tried another; no go.

Then I thought CPU. But I tried another (Ryzen 2200G); no go.

That leaves the mobo. But here it gets interesting.

I tried a second motherboard, and all of the same things happened.

I tried both PSUs with a jumper thing, and both power on with the PSU fan spinning just fine. When both PSUs are connected to the mobos, the lights on the motherboards power on, but the PSU fan will not spin up.

I even tried a different wall plug, thinking it may be that, but no change.

I've put the 2 DIMMs in all of the slots, even trying just 1 DIMM. No change.

I am at a loss. All components seem to work correctly on their own, but not together.

Motherboards - ROG Crosshair VI Hero, ASRock AB350 Gaming K4

CPUs - Ryzen 7 1700x, Ryzen 3 2200G

PSUs - Cooler Master 1000W Silent Pro (80 Plus Bronze), Antec 500W Earthwatts (?) 80 Plus (White I guess)

RAM - 16 GB GSkill FlareX 3200 MHz

I am at a complete loss here guys. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

if you can, try with a different ram kit, and also reset bios, remove battery on the motherboard and reset bios

I did clear the CMOS, both with the Clear CMOS button and pulling battery, no change. I will try a different RAM kit.

Thanks.

with motherboards these days you have to remove battery, then put the jumper in the right position, turn on pc, let it on for 10 seconds and then turn it off, remove jumper and then put battery back, bios these days refuse to be reset basically

I tried this on both motherboards. On the Fatal1ty board, the PSU and CPU fans now kick on during boot, but still nothing on the monitor.

It tries to boot about 3 times, then quits.

While I don't have a speaker for the beep codes, I have ordered on. Once that comes in, I'll check beep codes.

Thanks for the suggestion, it got me further along than I was before.

Are the bios on the motherboardd updated for the 2200g? Did you try without the graphics card?

The 2200G is a 1st gen Ryzen CPU, so it has no need for the motherboard to be updated to handle the 2200G. The Hero board is updated to the most current BIOS, which covers Ryzen 3rd Gen.

And I have tried with and without the GPU.

This is incorrect the ASRock  AB350 Gaming K4 requires at least bios version p4.60 in order to support the 2200g.

See the cpu support list here:

And the warning on this page:

Did you try the 2200g on the hero board?

My mistake on the BIOS update.

The Hero board is fully updated to the most recent BIOS, and I have tried the 2200G in it. All the same issues as the 1700x.

Unsure of how to check the BIOS version on the K4 without it at least booting into BIOS.
