Custom case component layout question

Go to solution Solved by Ashratt,

1cm should be enough, standard pc cases often don't have more than that too and cases liek the define r4 with a closed front are very tight for airflow from the front but it is still enough

So i have been taking apart what will become my custom case, the build it self is some time of but i've started planing an looking around for solutions to build it. Im on to layout of the components right now.

im converting and old broken down stereo receiver in to a livingroom gaming machine.

This case is special to me because it's about the only one that i've found that fits into my furniture.

The case is about 15cm high. In side the case i've got about 12.3 cm to work with for hight, I want to do as little as possible to the looks of the case from the outside. This makes fan placement and part placement tricky, especially when it comes to airflow. I cant attach any fans to the roof of the case since that part will either be right up against the shelf or be prominently shown.

This is what i've come up with

Since Air flow and is an issue in the case i was thinking to use a closed liquid cooling system for the cpu AND the GPU using an NZXT kraken g10. one fan and radiator will go on the 12,2 mm wooden side of the case, flipped on it side and the other one on the floor of the case next to the mobo. The GPU will using a riser card to flip it 90 so it fits the case.

The problem with this set up is that it's only about 1 cm of clearance under the case, will this be enough to get cool air in and cool the radiator?

I was thinking of anding a small 92 mm fan and put under the gpu just to get some circulation in there and use the onboard fan of the PSU as an outtake point.
