Work laptop

Hello,

I am a software developer and I am looking laptop mainly for work.My idea is down the line to get a eGPU and run my home setup of the it. Price range is up to 1400$ (Only laptop).

In my spare time I edit photoes, play games (LoL, PUBG , Wither 3). 

The main things I look for are:

• Long battery life
• Good keyboard
• Nice display
• 16GB RAM min / If it can be upgraded 8GB is fine/ 

Nice to haves are:

• Thunderbolt 
• Fingerprint and/or Windows Hello

Currently I have my eyes on the following laptops:

• DELL XPS 15 2019 - i5 9300H,no GPU, 8GB
• Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 6th, 8350u, 16GB
• Razer Blade 15 Base - But not sure i want to spend extra 200$

the 1400$ is not good combination between Working Station Laptop + eGPU.

and i think you should avoid Razer Blade since it already have GPU tho.

The 1400$ is only for the laptop. At least 5-6h it what i need, more is prefer. Weight is not a issue, as long its under 2.5kg (5.5 pounds).

I would go for gaming laptop tbh. eGPU setup is expensive

 

With min 5 hrs battery life, under 2.5kg:
