Need help choosing a 4k screen

Hi guy, I am looking to buy a new screen for my PC, I will be using it for mostly media consumption and some gaming. Although I'll be gaming on it, I am not an FPS or competitive player (the kind of game that I play is RPG, turn base strategy, or RTS)  so high refresh rate is probably not important for me. 

 

Currently, I have been eyeing for LG 27UK650-W because it comes with HDR and Free Sync (the latter is not important because I don't use AMD graphic card), however it offers 8 bit rather than 10 bit colour reproduction, is this something I should be worried about? And is HDR support worth it right now?

 

I could get something a lot cheaper and 10 bit colour if HDR isn't important or alternatively I could go for Asus PB27UQ which doesn't have any worth mentioned feature but offer 100,000,000 : 1 "Asus Smart" dynamic contrast ratio (whatever that mean) but is a bit more expensive. I want a screen that no larger than 27 inch so my option is quite limited and none of them supported G-sync which should be more useful to me.

What's Your Budget? If You're Doing Media Consumption You Should Look For A More Modern Monitor With HDCP 2.2.

HDR support in windows isn't really good yet and for just content consumption 8 bit color is more than enough. Freesync wise, NVIDIA has now stopped preventing freesync to be used on nvidia. so now when you plug a freesync monitor into an nvidia card u basically get gsync

I Didn't Know That, Thanks For The Tip. Is This For All GSync Compatible Cards Or Just The 20 Series?

All Gsync compatible cards. Currently doing so on my GTX 1080 right now. I have also verified it works with a GTX 960 which i believe is the lowest end card that supports  Gsync.

Not more than 500-ish buck but I live in Asia, a lot of devices here is a lot more expensive than what you will find in the state.

Thanks! that make LG a clear winner I guess. What about contrast ratio though? The Asus one got my attention because they have an excellent contrast even when it is dynamic and that seems to be what a lot of people have been looking for when choosing a monitor. 

 

To be fair, I don't even fixate on 4k that much (it's just on a why not category when I care even less about refresh rate) and I do some content creation from time to time just for fun but then again, I don't have creator graphic (just a 1070ti)
