How to know my laptop itself doesn't support high refresh rate panels by default?

Well,from my previous experiece, i F***ed up my Dell inspiron 7567 by changing its panel to a 120hz n now i cant adjust its brightness...
But recently i got a Msi gs63-6rf,which is a 60hz panel, i wanna know if im able to upgrade it to a 120hz panel?

something like N156HHE-GA1 120 Hz should work, see what others have to say.
