Howdy all!

I've been running my PC for a while now (Well over 8 years), and upgrading a part here and there every once in a while, but I feel as though it's finally time to upgrade it in a major way. I want to find myself a new CPU, but would rather on a newer socket than LGA1150, which means upgrading the Motherboard, which also means upgrading my current memory from DDR3 to DDR4.

I'm not really sure where exactly to look, as the market always used to be "Oh! New CPU for gaming? Intel all the way!!", but now AMD CPUs are becoming viable options.... (How the world is changing...). I have no real preference at the moment, but would really just like some performance-to-cost benefit.

Current Build;

CPU: Intel i5-4690k @3.5GHz, 4 Cores
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 Founders Edition

CPU Cooler: Stock Intel Cooler (Yeah... I know...)

Memory: Corsair Vengance DDR3 @1600MHz (2x8GB)

MotherboardASUS Z97-A

Storage: 250GB Samsung EVO 970 M.2 Drive, PNY 240GB SSD, 2TB Seagate HDD, 1TB Toshiba HDD

Power Supply: Thermaltake 650W
Case: Corsair Graphite Series 600T
Monitor: Dell E2715H 1920x1080 @60Hz, Gateway HX2000 1600x900 @ 59Hz
Keyboard: Corsair K70
Mouse: Razer Deathadder Elite

At this point, I'm looking to upgrade the CPU, CPU Cooler, Memory, and Motherboard. If I need to, however, am I willing to put some money down for a new power supply, although I don't really think I'll need to.
I am planning on upgrading the GPU and monitors sometime in the near future, but those aren't a priority right now,
My budget is roughly 600 USD, although if you folks have some insane suggestions I can break that a bit.
I usually just play games on this build, like Arma, GTA, and some others as they come along. I'm not massive into the AAA titles, as I don't find them enjoyable all that much, although I may play games like Siege every now and then.

Thank you all for helping me, it really means a lot! I appreciate you taking time out of your day to help my sorry little butt! <3

If you need any more info, feel free to let me know, and I'll do my best to provide!

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

I honestly don't remember what the exact product is, all I know is that it's a thermaltake and its 650W... It doesnt have any names on it besides Thermaltake, sorry.

I would prefer New, but used things from reliable sources would be fine I suppose.

Makes me wary of the quality, thermaltake makes some good units and some real crap ones. If you upgrade, consider allocating some funds for a new PSU. 550 or 650 will do for just about any rig.

I just looked up the serial number, and it looks like the Thermaltake TR2 TR-600, which is actually a 600 watt... Should still be alright though, just needs a good dusting

Oof, the TR2 was one of the worst lines from thermaltake, definitely consider a replacement.

Used one myself in an old spruce up build, terrible voltage ripple.

I personally would rather a larger motherboard with more room for upgrades in the future, so I changed it to a MSI B450-A Pro. As well, I don't really feel the need to upgrade my GPU at the moment, so I removed that from the list. Also, I've decided to go with an AIO Water Cooling system, and I've heard that Corsair does fairly well, so I've slapped a few extra bucks towards that, as I wish to water-cool the system for when/if I want to overclock. Here's where I am at now in the list, in case anyone would like to make any further suggestions. Thanks for the ideas @VEXICUS !!

(I may change the CPU to a more powerful one, although I'm not sure at the moment)
