Question Memory Frequency/ Latency for Ryzen 3000

Hello good people,

I'm getting close to finishing my build. The last parts should arrive by next week and the only missing piece is RAM.
I wanted to get a pair of Trident Z RGB (Neo, maybe?! If it ever comes out) 16GB.

Problem is, I'm not very knowledgeable on how RAM works, and I wanted help for choosing the right kit.

Do I go for 3200MHz cl16? 3200MHz cl14? 3600MHz cl18? There are a lot of options and price varies a lot.
I don't want to spend money on something that won't make any real world difference or isn't worth the price.

I should mention that the sole purpose for this build is gaming. I don't use things like blender, photoshop, or any of that.

Here's the rest of the build:
mobo: x570 Aorus Elite
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
Cooler: kraken x62
GPU: Aorus 2070 super 8G
PSU: corsair TX 650M
Monitor: 1440p 144Hz

Your Ryzen loves memory speed while intel could care less if its a 2666Mhz or 3200Mhz,, but with AMD there is a performance imporvement big time.  Get the sweet spot 3200Mhz cl16

3200MHz cl16 is the sweet spot for my wallet, I'll tell you that much! I'm in Canada and the 3200MHz cl14 is $60-$70 more expensive. Not worth the investment then?

I think first off 3600Mhz is really not needed in today's technology world.  Plus ithe latency sux.  You want low latency and CL16 is terrific .. 3200Mhz and enjoy it

Well there are 4000Mhz kits now.  Im trying to get him the best bang for the buck.  As I said AMD loves memory speed.  The sweet spot is 3200 @ 16cl .  He can buy a 4000Mhz kit which is expensive as hell and get 5fps more........ not worth it.

I had already gotten 2 pairs of 16GB XPG DDR4 D60G 3200 CL16 (I believe this ram is overclockable) and have ordered a 2 pair of Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 3733 CL17. Gonna see which is better, I haven't decided on which mobo to buy yet though.

3200MHz CL14 would be a modest gaming performance gain, but you’d get more for that money from returning that 2070S and buying a 2080.

I'm seeing more and more people successfully getting 3200CL14 Samsung b-die kits (not the best bin, but a good bin) up to 3600 and beyond.  If we are talking bang for your buck and can tolerate overclocking and all it entails then a 3200CL14 kit is a strong proposition.

But if you're not gonna tinker with your kit then just buy what you can afford.
