i5-3570 with an RTX 2060 SUPER...

Hello, I just ordered an RTX 2060 Super and I know there will be a bottleneck with my i5 3570.
I want to know a couple of things: can I run The Witcher 3 at stable 60 FPS on Ultra? 
And can I OC my CPU (non K)? if I can, will I have less bottleneck? 

I currently own a GTX 970, will I see a noticeable improvement?

It depends on the game/settings.

You can't really overclock it since it's a locked CPU.

Thanks for your reply. I play on 1080p only, and I plan on playing Cyberpunk 2077 also. Do you think it'll be fine with my new setup?

Do you have an estimated improvement in %? Sorry if I'm asking too much.

I'm sure it'll be fine. With very CPU intense games, you might run into some bottlenecking, but generally you should be fine. (Stuff like GTA 5, Far Cry 5, Assassin's Creed Origins, etc... tend to be pretty CPU intense, especially when there's a lot going on.)

 

Look around for some benchmarks. I'm sure they're not hard to find. (Except for Cyberpunk, good luck finding benchmarks for that until a little while after it's released.)

I'd guess around a 50% bump in performance, depending on the game.

So I've been looking around for some prices, and it looks like the i5-9400F removes almost completely the bottleneck. Of course I'll have to buy a new motherboard and RAM, but is it good? It's also very cheap, for around 160€. What do you think?

Yeah but you're comparing to the normal 2060, he got the super, which that site rates at 101% faster than the 970.

I'd personally be looking instead at the Ryzen 3600 as it's a better value and will have similar/better gaming performance.  You can pair it with an MSI B450 Gaming Plus motherboard and be able to update the Bios with Q-Flash so you don't have to buy an expensive X570 motherboard.

I was thinking about that too, but here the 3600 is 60/70€ more expensive...

oh dang, well than yeah I guess that does make it more like comparing Intel 9th gen (or maybe 8th gen if cheap enough), against Ryzen 2600 and similar.

Just got my 2060 Super and I can confirm that The Witcher 3 runs smoothly at 70 FPS on Ultra, Hairworks on.
