Is this a good setup for reliability and longevity?

Nine Tailed Fox

Have an i5-8400 being cooled with a Noctua NH-U9S and using an IC thermal graphite pad for TIM. Plan on using this machine for a good long while.

oh well. its not terrible but its not like the absolute shit either. read a lot of conflicting info on the x Core same thread stuff. i guess the good part is that you can upgrade to another cpu down the line with out having to replace the mobo. which will make it a lot cheaper if you don't mind buying a second hand chip

if you dont go to crazy with overclocks or anything id get a I7 chip. preferably 6 or more cores, do some googling on the motherboard you will find some sources not recomending to go to crazy because of heat and power delivery issues

Yes, that'll be plenty for cooling and need minimal maintenance outside of cleaning dust filters due to the thermal pad.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/
