I'm trying to troll my friend on his birthday by trying to get rid of all his RGB on his computer without painting over it. I wanna change the ram to the most "soul-sucking"(Brought to you by Linus) ram in the world. Also, all his other components are also RGB. So I need suggestions!

i assume you dont want to spend much on it. get 1 stick of the literally cheapest ram you can find which is just a bare pcb, i think adata still makes soome with a GREEN pcb.

 

GPU, just get a used crappy gt710, looks like shit, definitely no rgb.

 

Cooler, just put the stock cooler on.

 

put painters tape over mobo leds, unplug any led strips. job done, have fun

Considering you can build a kick-ass gaming rig out of "soul sucking" non RGB I don't know if you want to spend money to prank your friend.

I don't get it? Why would you mess with his computer on is birthday? Are you going to surprise him with a new one, or better upgrades when you are done?

 

I wouldn't be pulling out compenents and putting new ones in, you are asking for trouble there, especially with ram. What if he had all of it tweaked and overclocked? Pulling it out and replacing it with something else might make him lose everything. swapping ram and video cards and stuff is going to require bios settings, drivers and stuff like that. I wouldn't do it. I guess you could just put tape over anything that lights up?

 

Unless you were a computer tech I would kick your ass if you cracked my computer open and started fiddling with stuff. Which you are not or you wouldn't be asking this question, you would know what you need to do. Even if you did know what you were doing I would still be pissed. Especially if I had to redo drivers, overclocks and ram timings.

 

Whats next, are you going to mess with his car and bang his girlfriend? I mean I get it if you hate the guy, but you said he was a friend. On his birthday no less.
