slow iPhone 5s

So I have has an iPhone 5s for a while. It runs IOS 12.3.1 and I recently turned it on after not using it for a while and its been slower than expected (I have and iPhone SE and an ipad pro 2018 for reference). I even did a restore and moved my data back on. It also runs very hot alot of the time. Could replacing the battery fix this?

It depends on the health of the battery. You would have to check if it's running at peak performance or not. Also, the 5s is about 5 years old now.

I still have a 5s in service. Sounds like you have a battery issue, as mine is not all that much notably slower than my XS Max.

probobly, my se is barely any slower than my ipad pro 2018

The iPhone 6 and earlier are very easy to open, 2 Pentalobe screws. The battery connector is held on by a plate with 2 Phillips 000 screws, and the battery is simply held down with adhesive tabs.
