Power problems?

Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

The additional 4 pins are not required

I'm moving from an i5 7600k to a ryzen 7 3700x

I got a x570 mobo and I'm seeing the cpu now has 8+4 whereas my old one only needed an 8. My psu doesnt have additional pins for cpu and the PCI-e pins wont fit

Do I need to buy a new psu or am I missing something simple?

Psu is a 750 cooler master and the only modular slots are for hdd/sata expansions

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

you should be fine on a single 8-pin

those can delivery around 380W* on their own, your CPU is unlikely to exceed that

*not sure, but should be around that

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
