Id probably stay away from this if you can, its normally cheaper to just have 3 pcs and easier to setup and manage aswell.

One thing to note is unraid isn't known for being fast, so it won't be a great vm store. Id run something like proxmox if you want speed + linux kvm for vms.

I can's speak to the speed of unraid vs proxmox, but I do get close to my bare-metal speeds on it, and I am running three virtual machines with three GPUs passed through, two of which are for Windows gaming. The price was substantially lower than three separate PCs as I just needed the memory and GPUs.

The Windows gaming VMs have 12GB ram and 4 allocated cores/threads. The ONLY issue I have so far has to do with passing through Nvidia cards to Windows, which interferes with Hyper-V, meaning I can't do nested virtualization (at least as far as I can tell).

Using parsec, I can have others playing/gaming while I work on the third VM. NIce, cheap, and worth the learning experience.
