Attempting to make a render server and home nas and have a separate cable for data transfer

My whole goal it to get away from using my network to transfer data but use a eithernet cable as a offline data transfer from pc to pc, is this possible with current windows 10 pro?

you could just make a second network, put extra ethernet adapters on each pc, when you need to transfer from and to the target pc, use the dedicated connection

this way you keep the normal network access but make a new network point to point to the other pc

i havent done it in many years but should be still viable

You can try using crossover

this isn't needed anymore, all new systems will use a normal cable to connect 2 computers just fine.

You can just setup a ip on both and copy files if you want a seprate network.
