Hey so the other day I was browsing eBay for a low profile GPU to fit into a second PC after I bought an i3 2120 based low size prebuilt for a little over $12 all included, and this got me thinking that I could take a risk on a 'faulty' RX 460 LP from MSI for $20 on eBay, giving me a great value for money build at about $30 for a decent eSports PC that would fit my desk perfectly. So the GPU I bought, long story short, didn't work after a thorough cleaning and re-application of thermal paste, and the PC I have it in only works off the iGpu even if the card is installed and I plug the DVI cable into the motherboard, and when I plug it into the card, it refuses to display at all. So I disabled the iGpu, which didn't help, so now before I try any more invasive procedures, which I'm happy to do if required, I'd like to know if it's worth my effort, or is this card completely dead? As for the fans, they spin up on boot and shutdown for a split second, and I observed they were working at a respectable speed when the iGpu was disabled and I was getting no signal directly from the video card, so I know they work normally, the card didn't smell of burning when I tore it down, the PCB is in good condition with one minor stain on the back, which doesn't cover any traces and I'm pretty sure has nothing to do with the problem. I'm willing to try anything with this card, as like I said at the start it'll be a nice little PC if I get this up and running.

1. Paragraphs

2. With the card installed and your graphics coming through the iGPU, open up Device Manager and look for the card. Does it appear? If not, gonzo. If so, there's hope. Right click it and look at properties. If the details box shows any errors, write them down and Google away for solutions.

General rule: eBay sellers aren't stupid. Before they sell something as broken, they've tested it upside down and back to front until they're blue in the face trying to fix it. If something is listed as broken or for parts, it's broken or for parts.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Yeah sorry about the paragraphs ? also the card doesn't show up in device manager, so I guess my last hope is heat gunning the die to see if that will help as a last resort. Thanks though.
