Part of the problem is that Mac os doesn't even support the 10 series Nvidia cards. You're tied to AMD's cards if you're buying new

I don't think imessage or air drop works on MacOS on a hackintosh. With the current set up you won't be able to even install MacOS as it only accepts AMD graphics card.

So I'd recommend getting and rx 580, preferably 8gb memory as there isn't much difference in price. I recommend the rx 580 as it has similar performance to the gtx 1060 while also being cheaper. So if you wish to install MacOS without spending money , you could sell the 1060 and buy and rx 580

From what I can recall, you can generally hack them in on High Sierra, but it's far from perfect.

I know you can get iMessage/Facetime to both work with some trickery, and I can't imagine that wouldn't be the case with AirDrop.

im not familiar with AMD graphics cards. is a rx 580 like. exactly the same? but what i like about my GTX 1060 is that i can overclock my monitor to 75hz. can you do that on a AMD graphics card?

i had someone offer me to trade my GTX 1060 for a Radeon R9 280X 3GB.. is that a good card? maybe not for the Vram..

The 580 and the 1060 have very similar performance. You can overclock your display with an AMD gpu.

Nope, not at all, the r9 280x is worth nothing and also much slower than the 1060 you are basically getting scammed. A good trade would be between a 1060 and an rx 580 which perform about the same.

I recommend checking prices by going on ebay and entering the graphics card name and you should find what the prices are about. And you could also use gpu user benchmark to compare performance.

Very similar when it comes to performance but they are 2 entirely different graphics cards made in a different way. I do not believe overclocking a monitor is dependent on graphics card though.

Also is your dell a full size tower or a small form factor? Like is it a full size case or is it smaller?

Also by the way, it is quite a complicated process to get a hackintosh running and supposedly the hardest part is sourcing the actual OS and you need to be able to use a mac to be actually able to create a bootable drive with macOS. You may be able to find mac OS on other websites however I do not encourage piracy under any circumstances.

Air Drop is hardware dependent. There used to be ways to hack other brand hardware to get it to work, but not sure if that is still a thing.

Also all of the tools that are required to build the installation media (OS and drivers) are OSX specific so you will need to working a working mac / virtual machine to get these.
