My friend wants to get a pc that is strong but cheap, so he chose a Intel Pentium 3220 and a Gtx 760. How bad would the cpu bucket the gpu?

I'm use to saying bucket, but yeah bottleneck. He does not like amd because they run to hot so he doesn't want to pay more for a aftermarket cooler.

Convince him with a heavy metal object, haha just kidding. But he will be missing out on a lot of performance, he will probably be kicking himself later if he eventually realizes how much of a better option AMD could have been.

Minecraft tends to run better on a graphics card that is OpenCL based but I'm still playing with a gt 310m and I get okay ish...playable frame rates.

I would definitely spend more on the graphics card. Since AMD sell budget but value micro-processors a 6 core fx6100 might be good for him I dunno really.

Yes the 6100 is better than the pentium but the 6300 is better than the 6100 and it is the same price.

Right now if you live near a microcenter you can pick up an 8320 for $99 which is even cheaper than a 6300. If he takes an i3 over an 8320 he is the most ignorant intel fanboy ever. (be sure to tell him that)

he says he is going to buy a I5 4670k next paycheck which is in two weeks from now so he is pretty much waisting $70 to buy a gpu then in two weeks by a I5. Don't know why he doesn't just wait two weeks to buy it.
