Hi All,

I need a headset. Budget is up to 120 US. I am not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination. I do appreciate good sound though. I understand that buying headphones and an external mic would be the best option, but it doesn't fit my needs. I will be using them as headphones most, and the mic occasionally. They need to be open back or at least have really good ventilation, as my ears get really hot really easily.

Thanks for any recommendations in advance,

Erty

Does not having a second parenthesis around something bother anyone else as much as it does me? (Like if this statement was missing a second side)

From what i've heard a lot of people are liking the new func headset, give it a look and see what you think of it.

If you want open back you are limiting yourself a lot in terms of having a mic as well. I only know of a few headsets that are open and they are quite pricey.

Yeah, that's also why I'm really hesitant to get them and I need to know if they really are worth the price.

I also hear good things about these http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Wireless-Headset-V2100/dp/B00EXPNFUA and they are wireless

Well the Corsairs don't sound the best, but they're what I suggest if someone really really wants a wireless headset.

what ears hot?

its a closed design with clothy velour cups its not like the breathing open backed headphones I have but not bad. my M50 vmoda and 8323 get ugly sweaty fast. the relatively larger interior of the cups and cloth keep things from getting too ugly but in the end it is a closed back design, after my 2-3 hour raiding sessions I did feel relief when I took off the corsairs just like any headphone.

the dt770 is a bit less sweaty compared to the corsair probably due to the larger cup interior but still warm after a while

Would a modmic be acceptable? It's a mic that just attaches to your headphones. If so, you can grab a Pioneer SE-A1000 and a modmic for around $100. I just got my Pioneers today and love them.
