Buy and anti-static bag from a local store, they're cheap.  I wouldn't ship without on, but that's me.

If you're just going to pick up the GPU, yes, that's fine. If there's shipping involved somehow, although I can't see how there would be if you're providing the box, invest in an anti-static bag and extra padding, then ship the GPU box inside of another heavily padded box.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

I am just picking it up from a place, not being shipped. So I don't need an antistatic bag?

I don't think so, no. Just make sure the PCB is facing up and doesn't have anything pressing down on it.

The PCB is the card itself. The fan is on the cooler. The cooler should be face down.

I'm gonna be busing, I have my original GPU box with padding. It doesn't matter which way I face it right?
