Hi Guys,

I picked up a Sony Xperia SP a month ago (really like it) But my wifi keeps disconnecting after 10 seconds! When I go in to the options my wifi is just there with 2/4 bars and need to reconnect.

This really bothers me.

Hope you guys can help.

Thanks in advance

Does is happen on different networks or just the single one you were referring to?

After time more in my network, but sometimes at school too

I don't know if this is standard, but there is sometimes a wifi option to "disconnect weak connections" or something like that. Try setting that to off and see if it helps.

Are you running 4.3+? when I updated to 4.3 on my Galaxy S3 I had the same issue, go to Settings>Wifi>Advanced> and make sure something like Auto Network Switch is off.

Found this on xda developers:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2372006

Someone from sony said this on a thread on there forums:

There's no setting in the phone that increases the wifi range but you could try changing the settings in your router and see if that helps. Start by checking what channel is best to use using this app and then set your router to that channel: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer.

If your router supports both 2.4 and 5GHz, try connecting to the SSID for 2.4GHz instead. 5GHz gives a shorter range.
