Upgrading CPU, MoBo and RAM

I have a i5 4460 ATM and am considering AM4 platform as an upgrade (or a 4790k). Is it possible to upgrade everything without having to reinstall W10?

It is possible but definitely not recommended. The old drivers might fight with the new ones. I always have OS on a separate small ssd where i dont put all my data. Only few small apps like if they cant be installed anywhere else. It helpes a lot when you need to reinstall your OS.

If you are concerned about having to redownload your games or whatnot put them on a HDD set as a Steam Library.
