High End X370 + Ryzen 3000

I am honestly convinced that those of us that invested in higher end X370 motherboards back in 2017 with really good VRMs and cooling, we should be able to potentially rock even the Ryzen 9 3950X without issues.

 

What do you guys think?

I would say not likely as the voltage differences between the the top of the line 1st gen witch they were built for and the new ryzen 9 is much higher

Your Strix has good VRMs yes and it should easily handle a 3900, but we don't really know how much power the 3950 will end up using it's all specualtions. 

I think worst case scenario you would end up needing to actively cool the VRM

the new ryzen 9 hits much the same voltages as previous Ryzen processors, it's the current that's much higher

 

but for stock performance on a 16 core, it should be fine.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
