I'm planning on upgrading my RAM.

I currently have Corsair Vengeance LPX 2133MHz 2x4GB

My question is: Should I buy 2 extra Corsair LPX 2133MHz 4GB (Prices in The Netherlands)

Or should I buy 2 faster 8GB like this one or this one

My reason to upgrade is that I've been noticing framedrops and instabilities for a long time and they got worse after buying my new 144Hz monitor because I set the frame limit to 144 instead of 60 which it used to be. (Battlefield V)

So I hope you can give me advice on which decision to make. The links to the products are just examples if you have better sugestions I'd love to hear them.

I also noticed that my CPU usage is pretty high in Battlefield V. On the pictures my CPU reaches 83%, but sometimes it hits 90% or some cores even hit 100%. But when I looked up benchmarks with the same CPU and similar components the CPU didn't even reach percentages close to mine. So if anyone has an idea what causes that; I'd love to hear it too!

The far bigger problem is having only 8 GB of RAM than the speed of it. 16 GB should do wonders. Of course if you comfortablely have money for more than 16  or faster RAM, go ahead and get it but upgrading to more of what you have to 16 will give you the most cost benefit.

More Ram is really gonna help. Faster Ram is going to help even more. Dont know what CPU you are using , but my ryzen 5 2600 even OC'ed shows numbers of up to 94% usage while playing BFV.
The game just uses a lot CPU Power and is not known to have the best optimization. :D

As Polargirl mentions, most modern titles need 16gb ram. Especially, you need 3000mhz of roughly 15 cas in order to find that right balance between price and performance.

CPU: 8600k @4.9  (1.39v) |  Cooler: NH-U14s | Mobo: Asus Strix z390i | Ram: Gskill DDR4 Trident Z 3600 8GB x 2 16-16-16-36

GPU: Gigabyte G1 1080 GTX | Case: Prodigy ITX | Fans: NH-A14, (exhaust) NH-A12, (intake) NH-A20 (intake)

Samsung EVO 1tb | Samsung EVO 512gb x2 | Intel ssd 128gb

PSU: Powerstation 500W

I've read 3200 but a bit more tolerance on the CAS. 3200/16 CAS and 3000/15 CAS both give a true latency of exactly 10 nanoseconds so whichever is cheaper, I guess. Like yourself, I'd recommend starting over with memory and sell what the OP has on eBay Germany:

https://www.ebay.de/

The OP did not specify whether it is for an Intel or AMD motherboard.

If Intel, then the OP is in luck because I found Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Kit, Black on Amazon Germany for EUR 69,90

https://www.amazon.de/Corsair-Vengeance-3200MHz-Performance-Arbeitsspeicher/dp/B0143UM4TC

If AMD, then the OP would need to buy VENGEANCE® LPX Memory 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200 MHz C16 - Black on Corsair Germany website for 94,99 €

https://www.corsair.com/de/de/Kategorien/Produkte/Arbeitsspeicher/vengeance-lpx-black/p/CMK16GX4M2B3200C16

With either, the OP has at least two more slots for expansion to 32GB in the future.

I have an AMD x370 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard, so the second one will be best for me I guess. I'm just gonna check whether they sell it cheaper somewhere else and if not I'm gonna buy it on Amazon.de,

Thanks for your response!

I hava an AMD Ryzen 1500x. It should be a bit overkill for my 1050TI so I thought the high CPU usage was a problem. If you also have high usage with your 2600x, it's normal I guess.

Thanks a lot for your response.

So I found the same RAM kit (I believe?) on a Dutch site for €15 cheaper: https://azerty.nl/product/corsair/850706/vengeance-lpx-ddr4-16gb-geheugen-16-gb-2-x-8-gb?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9pDpBRCkARIsAOzRzitRNR1FNmAdL-541a1Sfo2NCx3LLkhh_tv0L9Rzv23681r7U4gT3S0aAo3WEALw_wcB

I'm just checking, will this RAM work with my AMD x370 Gaming Pro Carbon? (The rest of my system is on my profile I believe)

https://www.amazon.de/CORSAIR-Vengeance-PC4-25600-3200MHz-CMK16GX4M2B3200C16/dp/B014OIDNRU

is the only seller in Germany on Amazon and they want 415 EUR

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Corsair-Vengeance-LPX-16GB-2x8GB-DDR4-DRAM-3200MHz-C16-Memory-Kit-Black-/123810207702

is the cheapest on eBay.de and they want 105 EUR with shipping.

An American website sells it for $69.99 or about 62,51 EUR. They do ship to Germany and probably cheap but you will have to pay all importation fees like duties and VAT. It is still worth looking into.

It looks like the same model number: CMK16GX4M2B3200C16

but your link shows it going for 80.90 EUR

If the link below is the motherboard you have, then it dors not support DDR4 RAM. You must either get DD3 or another motherboard.

I'm from The Netherlands and some stores here sell it as well. The link to "Azerty" was the cheapest one I could find. So newegg might be the best option. I don't have the motherboard from the link. I have this one. It says it supports DDR4 "Supports DDR4-3200+(OC) Memory" So I guess the vengeance 3200 MHz still is the best option?

Newegg says that including VAT it will cost €87, so it's cheaper for me to buy it on Azerty

I replied to another post that if your motherboard is the one in the link, you cannot use DDR4 memory and that you either must use DDR3 or another motherboard so do not buy this memory we have been posting about unless it is either for another motherboard or the one in the link below is not yours.

No need to apologize. I'm glad I caught this compatibility problem before you made a purchase. I can either look for DDR3 RAM for you or new motherboards.

Okay, I'm confused now. On the MSI website it says my motherboard does support DDR4.

I mixed up the X370 with the 970A. Someone else posted about a 970A Gaming Pro Carbon around the same time. That is why I did ask you to verify. Your post did say X370. I should have read more closely. My mistake.

So this RAM https://azerty.nl/product/corsair/850706/vengeance-lpx-ddr4-16gb-geheugen-16-gb-2-x-8-gb?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9pDpBRCkARIsAOzRzitRNR1FNmAdL-541a1Sfo2NCx3LLkhh_tv0L9Rzv23681r7U4gT3S0aAo3WEALw_wcB is still the best option? Because then I'll start saving up some money for it.

Both links are to the exact same sale item page. It went down in price. It is €81.00 EUR after €3.95 shipping and only ships to either Holland or Belgium.

The good news is Amazon Germany is finally selling it for €74.99

Okay, so Amazon.de raised it's price to €81 and Azerty raised it to €95, but I found the same one (I believe) on Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3200MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0143UM4TC/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=Corsair%2BVengeance%2BLPX%2B16GB%2B(2x8GB)%2BDDR4%2B3200MHz&qid=1563628067&s=gateway&sr=8-2&th=1

Can you check whether this is the same one and if not, will it work with my Motherboard?
