Is it worth upgrading motherboard for Ryzen 5 3600

I've currently got a R5 1600 and MSI B350 PC Mate, MSI is apparently going to be releasing a bios update to support Ryzen 3000 series CPUs so I was wondering if I should even buy a new motherboard. So would buying a newer B450 board be worthwhile? I'll probably end up using my current board with it for a week or so until I can afford to buy a new board if I do end up getting one.

✨PC Specs✨

AMD Ryzen 7 3800X | MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus | 16GB Team T-Force 3400MHz | Zotac GTX 1080 AMP EXTREME

BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 Samsung 850 EVO 250GB | NZXT 750W | Phanteks Eclipse P400A

Extras: ASUS Zephyrus G14 (2021) | OnePlus 7 Pro | Fully restored Robosapien V2, Omnibot 2000, Omnibot 5402

What do you want to put in it?

If r5 3600/x, 3700x it will be fine, but don't put a 3800x or a 3900x in it.

If there is a bios i would put a 3600 in that mobo just for laughs.

But if you want a good cheap mobo b450 tomahawk.

You probably won't have the boost that the new cpus have, just like the 2000 Ryzens.
Get a B450 Steel legend or a tomahawk.
