If you keep in mind the period then yes I think the 2500k is the best CPU,  great OC potential.

If you could get it at a competitive price at least then Sandy Bridge era chips would probably be still worth it in 2019...

I wouldn't bother buying one today, mainboard will be a hassle and for the same amount you can probably buy something that performs better. Unless you practically get it for free that is.

I think its still comparable to a ryzen 2200g in cpu performance. and its good if you have ddr3 ram...

Getting ddr3 aint the problem, the mainboard might be. ALso it depends on how much you pay for it

It was the best value CPU of its time, I think that was what Paul was getting at. It’s only in the last year or two that I’ve felt any need to replace mine.
