Oh ThreadRipper is def not for me, I don't even do video rendering or photo crap.  I do use a HT APP tho and I wondered about the scaling 18c compared to 32c tr.  Ive learned in this thread that 32c is way way too much for my needs.  For my DAW a 9900k @ 5Ghz would give me unlimited capabilities and a 12 core Ryzen would be the icing on the cake. no phun.
