Its a toss up, 120mm radiators are great because of the abundance of radiator optimized fans but 140mm ones are also larger and have a more spread surface area making it quieter and maintaining the same temps.

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

Should i get a 280mm rad or a thicker 240mm rad? i know thicker rads are good but not sure if 140mm fans on rads better than 120mm fans

there are lesser options on the 140mm fan than the 120mm fans.

as to the radiators, that's a case support concern. if it'll hold a 60mm radiator that

should be good enough.

but without more information on build, you'll get a lot of suggestions, but no one

knows your build, but you.

Thicker rads also utilize pushpull better :)

if you have room for push/pull, you have room for more radiator. it is cool to say

push/pull, double the cost in fans, no guarantee in thermal performance and usually

makes the build louder.

I'm thinking of putting it in the corsair 750d in the front

Either you're master race or you're not.

not a great idea for the 750D. the air intake struggles now (front cover stifles the air-flow)

and trying to jack enough air into the radiator is near futile. you'd have to rework the

front panel with an opening or pipe more air intake for the front radiator to breathe so

that you have enough air to cool the radiator. would be better to use the 240x 60 on the

floor. puts the exit line closer to the GPU(s).

in the 750D Owners Club on OCN, some have noted when they did use the front intake

for their radiator, removing the front panel lowered the temperatures up to 13°, but mostly

6°-8°.

what do you mean by 240x 60. I'm not totally sure what that mean.

So you'd recommend putting the rad in The bottom for intake?

Either you're master race or you're not.
