Cpu, motherboard temps over 200C

Hi,

I’ve noticed that aida64 reports the motherboard and cpu temperature over 200C

it appears as if the Sensors were malfunctioning

update: when I ran the CPU stress test in aida64, the CPU fan does a sharp rev up and down

it's either a bad temp probe or the software not translating the temp probe's output properly.

if your computer was running at 200C+ you would smell it before you saw it.

To add on to it, I’ve just ran the stress test and the cpu fan is doing a sharp rev up and down

..okay? that doesn't change the fact that your system is not running at 200 degrees because the CPU would be throttling like all hell and i can see with my very own eyes that your throttling percentage is a constant 0. like i said, this is either a bad TProbe or a bad reading from a TProbe.

well, that was what I guessed as well

guess the only solution is a new PC?

no, the solution is to just ignore it and keep using the machine. a faulty temp reading doesn't warrant scrapping a PC.

what does the BIOS say about the machine's temperature.

The bios doesn’t show the reading

not even Dell diagnostic utility

That software is reporting an obviously wrong value. Either the software is faulty or the sensor is faulty, there's really no other option here.

Your CPU is not resting above 200C.
