streaming desktop performance to laptop

So I really love using a laptop because it is portable to easily take all over the house with me, but I like the upgrade ability and power of a desktop. Now I have gotten my hands on a desktop but All programs like Teamciewer, etc. Just don't work that great when trying to do any remote stuff.

I basically want my laptop to be my screen, keyboard and mouse of my desktop pc. but I can't find any decent remote tool which is free and works decent. Especially in during games it glitches out a lot.
Anybody has any experience in this and/or knows how to solve this?

streaming games over internet sucks ass unless you got fiber on both ends and both computers are connected to internet via ethernet. As for solutions go, I tried to use VPN and use steam home streaming but even then ping was too much to be playable. For other desktop purposes I use RDP, it's already integrated into windows so it does not use extra resources teamviewer does.
