Windows server 2016 not starting

Hello all,

Today I went to log into my windows server via remote desktop which failed so I got a monitor and keyboard ect and plugged it into my server to find the server was not outputting a display signal (keyboard and mouse work). So I hard restarted the server now I cant boot into windows server. It starts out by displaying the logo and the loading animation then the logo disappears and the animation remains then the screen goes black and nothing is happening however the monitor is registering an output. The only problem I have with this server is it likes to reboot by itself.

try restoring backups.

 

Can you boot into safe mode?

Is this a virtual server or a physical (bare metal) server?

 

If physical, have you checked the health of your disks?

As, @Electronics Wizardy said, try booting to safe mode as well.

I also hope you made a crash backup of the machine just for a case like this.

Also try "Last Known Good Configuration" in the boot options.
