Try moving the memory stick to the other port. Check power cables and put a little pressure on each to check if they click. Alternatively try booting without the graphics card installed.

Right so, it turns on but nothing happens.

It doesn't even power cycle a couple times, as in it turns itsself off a couple of times?

Next to the memory slots and 24 pin powerconnector is a debug led. Can you tell us which leds are burning?

Sounds like a defective RAM stick, or not properly plugged in. either or.

Do you have the option to test with another stick? Any size (capacity, not generation) will do.

To add. Have you tried to let the computer try to 'learn' the memory? It can take a while.

Just leave the computer on and do its thing, think maybe 10 minutes should do the trick?

Thank you, everything looks connected properly, so only conclusions i can make are defective memory module, memory slot or simply the mainboard takes a long time to learn the memory.

I think 'default' setting for a ryzen cpu is that it expects 2333mhz memory?

yeah, should learn it automatically and boot anyway.

When you first powered it on, did it powercycle on itsself? as in, turn itsself on and off a couple of times?

In case you do not have an extra stick to test with. Try resetting the bios.

Either take the battery out after unplugging the power cable, put it back in after a minute, followed by the power cable. Or put a jumper on the 2 pins jsut above the i of MSI (in picture its titled JBAT1)

So then either a defective board, defective ram stick or defective powersupply.

this is hard to answer, as you never have a certainty.

in my life thus far, both using a brand as psu's that came with cases, i've had only 1 psu that malfunctioned in its lifespan. And even then it didn't fry anything else in the case.

The one you have should in theory be able to keep your system up and running without frying anything.

If you do decide to replace it, check this post for advice:

if you really want to spend money tho, i would rather recommend you spend it on a 2nd ram stick for dual channelling.
