I need a cpu

I'm upgrading my pc"s cpu and motherboard. The gpu i have is a 750ti does anyone have any good suggestions for a cpu for the 750 ti gpu. My current cpu is a 2 quad q8400 with a motherboard that i do not know what it is but it has a LGA775 socket. i would prefer to get a cpu for the socket LGA 1150. And I'm upgrading for gaming mainly minecraft with mods and older cods

What are the rest of your specs? Where are you aiming to improve performance by upgrading the cpu?

Where are you shopping / located? Budget?

mainly to improve performance on games and ill be shopping on ebay.  My current cpu is a 2 quad q8400 with a motherboard that i do not know what it is but it has a LGA775 socket. Sorry i didnt metion all of this before im new to forums and stuff
