Alright, just a hypothetical question:

What impacts do you think will happen when Ryzen 3000 hits the market? What will happen in the future? Taking into consideration Intel price drops as well, do you think people will people opt for a cheaper Intel CPU if that's the case? And for the Nvidia super cards, what do you think will happen to the GPU market?

Zen 2 impact will be based around its performance.  If 3600x and 3700x can beat 9600k and 9700k in gaming performance, Intel is done for.  Just imagine, a 6c/12t CPU for 200USD that can overclock to 4.5-4.8Ghz and beats 9600k in high FPS gaming. That is brutal...on paper.

We can only wait patiently for real benchmarks. But I'm fairly sure that AMD will give Intel some hard time in gaming market.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus TUF Gaming B650-Plus / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Zotac RTX 5090 SOLID OC/ x2 WD_BLACK NS770 2TBs/ Corsair HX1000i/ NZXT H5 Flow

Intel will most certainly make some price adjustment to add competition, assuming these leaks have all been true.

After they change their prices, it really depends on what supply/demand curves to. Keep in mind intel was/is going through a shortage.

For enthusiasts? Those of us with older 4/4 CPUs or FX chips can freely choose the Zen2 of their choice; those of us with competent 4/8, 6/6, 6/12, and 8/12 chips will probably not upgrade.

Intel will be fine as they really don't give a shit about the consumer desktop market. They'll release something good in 2-3 years, enthusiasts who skipped Zen 2 will buy that, and those ones who got Zen 2 won't bother.

Basically, the same shit that always happens.

the 16 core will be my only personal zen build most likely, also watching out for any jank involving 2 chiplets and gaming.

As for performance, i'm looking at (max oc) 3600 vs 9700k, 3700 vs 9900k in gaming, the 3800 will most likely be the same price as the 9900k after the price drop so might be a bit awkward if it falls short of the 9900k, i think the 3600 and 3700 and 3950x will be brutal for intel, amd should have this lead  for 1.5-2 years, but intel will be back.
