iROG2 - updating over and over again - NEED HELP!

Go to solution Solved by BobekCZ,

Guys ! I found a solution...

I played with the bios itself. I took it off and scratched the end of the pins by piece of metal, put it back in and it suddenly BOOTED. Everything works perfectly.

Recommend this to everyone having this problem, it should work for them too...

Hi everyone, I need help..When I turned on my pc this morning it booted real slow and than it showed this (this picture). I was like: Okay, it can keeps running until I get back from school?.When I came back there was 80%. I was like: LOL..I read some threads about it and found out that it's booting over and over again..I tried flashing the bios. Didn't work. Tried CMOS button, also didn't work. It doesn't even let me go in the bios after restart! Can you please give me some advices or solutions? Thanks for answers :)

PS: my mobo is maximus vi gene...using bios 1203post-8359-0-19297900-1390839640_thumb.jp

Try disabling it. And by the way, you messed up the quote. :P

On the ROG forum, I read that you might have to RMA the board.

This is usually part of a bios update process.  The usual process is that your computer shuts off, completes iROG1 (0-100%), shuts off, completes iROG2 (0-100%), then should boot normally.

Something clearly went wrong with your bios (maybe the chip is bad, given that you can't flash it).  Maybe try the MemOK button to kick it out of the loop.  Aside from that you should just call Asus support and get them to help you.

It's too bad that your board doesn't have dual bios, because that would be an easy way to get back up and running while you sort out the other bios problem.

What does your Q-Code read while all this is happening?  It could be something other than your bios.

Return Merchandise Authorization. You basically send in a request to have your part replaced.

Are you sure it didn't have a warranty? Sometimes they'll let you return them though.

Those codes aren't particularly revealing.  That's too bad.

Were you updating the bios or anything like that when this started?

Honestly just give ASUS support a call, they may be able to help you sort it out without replacement.  If its just a bad bios chip, you can order a new one (I think they're about $10 USD or so) from the Asus estore.

The exact same thing happened to me after trying to flash using USB Flashback. I just switched over to the second BIOS Chip and it fixed itself. I most likely bricked the first BIOS Chip which is probably what happened with yours. If you can replace your BIOS Chip or switch over to the second one (if your board supports it) then it might fix the issue.

The maximus vi gene doesn't have dual bios, so he's probably stuck getting a replacement chip or getting phone support to work some voodoo magic.  :S
