Mac OSX 10.7.5 not detecting USB drive

Go to solution Solved by acwilson96,

dont take this wrong but have you turned it of and on again

I had yeah and don't worry I understand the need for that question. I managed to fix it by attaching a USB splitter to the same USB port and then the Drive to the splitter, odd that this would fix it but whatever!

I have a 32GB USB thumb stick and I my MacBook won't pick it up, I have a 2GB usb drive which shows up in both finder and disk utility but the 32GB one doesn't show up in either.

Try formatting the stick to FAT32 or exFAT.

Tried both of these on both usb drives, works with one but not the other
