WMi is the Windows Management Instrumentation. It's not really a rogue process, but it's certainly odd it's eating that much CPU. However, before I progress at all, please read through this comment, update the post, and come back so we don't need to play 100 questions, please.

WMI will do that, it will go away soon. I've had it eat 80% of my 8600k.

Reboot helps sometimes.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

I've since rebooted twice. I've looked into it and havent seen any reports of it going away, only ways to fix the problem.

WMI is still using like 25 percent of my cpu, but my cpu is only using 37 percent with idle use like discord and web browsing opposed to 100 percent not too long ago.

Just let it sit for a bit. WMI can run pretty stiff when updates are downloading, things are patching, etc. Tracking down what within WMI is causing the huge CPU spike is going to be somewhat difficult.

I know on my system, during large updates it can spike to 80% and sit there for a bit, and I've seen WMI do it as well when running VM's.
