Ok so I wanted to upgrade my GPU so I checked my GPU pins because I didn't build this PC and I didn't know what kind of PSU I have. So when I checked I saw that they are 2x6+2 pins coming from a single cable. Is this a legit one I couldn't find a PSU model like mine. It is a High Power 600W(attached ptohots with it and the pins). Also I had it paired with an Sapphire Vapor X HD 5870(I know antique stuff) which required 2x6 pin and I had to underclock it to 425 mHz because otherwise some strange lines would appear on screen under load and I had to hard reset. Could it be that this cable is not a true 2x6 pin ? And also could I use this cable for a 8 pin or 2x8 pin GPU ? Thanks for answering.

High Power is a low-end Chinese may-or-may-not-kill-you brand of PSU. Rather than wonder if it'll work, i'd wonder if I could trust it at all.

I'd replace the thing outright if I were you, wouldn't trust it to effectively, reliably, or safely power my system. Take a look at the PSU tier list thread and pick something that fits your budget, my recommendation.

That's completely normal. 6+2pin connectors are designed so that they can be used in either 8pin sockets or 6pin sockets. The extra 2pin breaks away or clips together with the 6pin connector as needed. If you need an 8pin then just put them together and insert the 6+2pin connector in to the 8pin socket.

I don't know anything about the model of PSU though.

Yeah but there are 2 of them that seemed strange. Anyway thanks for answering.

That's also normal. Quite common for the PCIe cables to have what is known as "pigtail" connectors where there are two connectors coming off the one cable. Even a lot of higher end PSUs have cables like this.
