Hi, I‘m trying to find out if it is a good idea to use an eGPU over m.2. I would use my M keyed m.2 4x nvme port und use an m.2 to pcie adapter. The best thing i thound yet was the „R43SG PCIe x16 to M.2 NVMe eGPU extension adapter cable“. I want to use it on my laptop because i‘ve won an oculus rift s and my laptop doesn‘t have a DiplayPort and what i‘ve read so far there is no hdmi to dp adaper fast enought yet on the market. So if anyone would be able to help me I would be very pleased. Thanks :)

I woud probably upgrade to a 1660

upgrading to 1660 won't improve performance significantly You better of with 1060 there only 10-15 % performance improvement you gain over 1060 which is not a good value for money since you will only gain 4-5 fps average . If you are going to upgrade it go with rtx card or 1660 Ti else just stick with 1060
