Hi,

I was tasked with creating an Android virtual machine and writing a report about the use case for it.

Now I got curious on how that Android VM (Android 8.1) would stack up against my phone with Android 9

My phone has an Snapdragon 835 with 4 GB of RAM

I gave the VM 4 cores with 2 GB ram. (CPU is I7 7700HQ) I ran geekbench 4 and the VM actually got a higher score than my phone. Now I think this is due to it being X86-64 compared to ARM is this correct? Or are there other factors at stake here?

Cheers,

You're comparing a Leopard 2 main battle tank with a bicycle.

There is simply so much more capacity in a larger chip such as the 7700HQ. More transistors, more instructions per clock and much higher clock speed, especially one that can be easily sustained because of much better cooling.
