I want to add a backplate to my current GPU (ASUS Strix RX 570), DIY. Watched some videos and heres what I got from them, correct me if I'm wrong

measure GPU

cut acrylic by scoring then breaking over a table or something like that

paint,

put it on top of GPU w/ double sided tape

I want to do they same thing but instead of painting, simply applying a vinyl wrap over it, as that would be faster, less messy, and allow me to get some vinyl wrap for other projects.

Want to buy everything on amazon, as I have some extra balance from gift cards and stuff.

I'd like to know whats the best acrylic, or at least one that you guys have had a if not positive at least a regular experiance with, and which acrylic scorer/cutter to get.
Thanks for reading this post and helping me out

Cast acrylic will work well something in the 1/8" to 3/16" range will be good. You can use a table saw or jig saw to cut and then polish the acrylic edge.

ok, I'll prob get some 1/8th inch, will an acrylic scorer also work? I don't have many power tool.

Yes you can score it multiple times and clamp it down with a bar over and edge of a work surface to snap it, it may require some filing and cleanup to square up the edge. You can even cut acrylic using relatively fine tooth hand saw for wood long as it's supported well during the cut.

If you do decide to paint it instead of wrapping it in vinyl or having a pre-colored piece of acrylic is using clear and painting the back side of the acrylic that will face down onto the PCB side. It will give you some nice depth with the acrylic over the paint and a very smooth crisp finish.
