Alarm System

Hey guys!

I got an alarm system installed in my house, it just makes a really loud alarm when 1 of the 4 sensors are triggered.

Does anyone know any software that I can set up on my computer that will listen for the alarm and then do an action when it hears it?

Ideal I would love the program to be able to hear when it is triggered and preform an action on the computer, even just to click on a button because then I can make it call me on FB or Skype or something so I see on my phone something has set it off no matter where I am.

Any other ideas would be fantastic too, Just had to ask because I couldn't find anything on google about it haha

I'm pretty sure no popularly distributed application like this exists. The use case is too unique.

You may want to look into something like a micro-controller or an arduino. That'd be more ideal for this application.

Some alarm systems already connect to your Wi-Fi and have the ability to send you a phone notification. This would probably be the easiest of all 3 since if you used your PC and a mic you'd have to code what audible dB and/or frequency range would trigger sending you a notification and that requires background knowledge in coding.

This is a feature on pretty much all decent alarms. Anything modern from g4s has an app that allows notifications of alarm triggers, remote viewing cameras etc.

Mine uses WiFi to disable the alarm when my phone connects to the network.

So basically get a better alarm unit and it can do what you want.
