Sans Hackintosh

artymatte

Hi guys!

I just watched an episode of LTT on YouTube titled *We built Apple’s new Mac Pro* and it got me wondering. Is it possible to run MacOS on non-Apple hardware (say eg. a Dell laptop) without using hackintosh?

No because Apple doesn't license their OS to any one else other than themselves, thus the "hack" part of it.

Hackintosh is just a nickname for using apple software on non apple hardware. It's not the name of software.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

The whole point of a hackintosh is that it's running MacOS on non-Apple hardware

Thank you Lurick, is there a step by step approach somewhere you can suggest to me?

There are guides on tonymacx86, insanelymac and a bunch of other sites.

Instead of tonymacx86 I would suggest /r/Hackintosh for a truly vanilla build

CPU: i7 3820@4.3Ghz GPU: Gtx 1060 RAM: 16gb HyperX Fury CASE: S340 Elite Cpu runs nice and hot ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
