Good day all.

I need some help with something I don't really I understand so well.

I currently running the following system specs.

Core i5 4670k

12GB RAM 1 x 8GB and 1 x 4GB

Mother board Colorful h81a-btc v20

GTX 1060 6GB

Now before that I had a i5 3450 with all the same specs expect the other board.

Now I'm getting more or less the same performance if not in some titles worse could that motherboard be a problem due to it being a mining board or could it be the RAM being one 8GB and 4GB sticks.

I don't have another 4th gen board to test with at the moment sadly.

The 8GB RAM stick is a corsair Vengeance 1600mhz and the 4GB is just normal DDR3 RAM 1333mhz.

I don't really know what else it could be besides the motherboard or RAM config.

Help.

In this ram config you don't get dual channel and the 1600 speed ram will also limit to 1333. Because that was the same with the old cpu Though, that shouldn't be the problem.

What exactly are the issues and have you monitored cpu/gpu/ram utilization Temps and clock speeds during gaming?

Yup the 1600 will clock down to 1333 that's right. so CPU runs at 60 degrees celsius on full load GPU not sure I think about 55 degrees celsius to about 65. And my FPS is like super bad for the GPU I have like metro last light I'm getting 45-55 FPS I should be getting 60+ I believe.

The issue is in only 1 game?

You probably accidentally changed some setting or whatever. Maybe try reinstalling the game.

your system is essentially the same as it was before. the cpu might be a k-series but it's still locked because of the h81 board, the memory is mismatched and running at 1333 and, well, really nothing has majorly changed about the rig to make it perform better.

if you want more performance out of it, get a kit of matching ram - 1866mhz is great, get a board that can overclock that cpu and throw it up to 4.6GHz. you should see some improvement then.

You are right how ever I did think the CPU would give me at lest a little increase over the old one.

400mhz between them. it won't make too much of a difference really. the system needs a bit of a rework for it to run smoothly

But what I don't understand is that lot of my games FPS are less and more unstable.

Could a motherboard be a problem due to it being a mining board?
